Email your MP asking for their support on low-cost retrofit finance

The UK has some of the worst housing in Europe, with the Climate Change Committee highlighting that nearly 29 million homes across the UK will need some form of energy efficiency or heating upgrades.

We also know that during an energy and cost of living crisis people want to reduce their fuel bills and make their homes more energy efficient, but may not have access to low-cost finance to make those changes.

We are asking the Government to back a new financial product called ‘Property Linked Finance’ (PLF), which could be charged at very low interest rates on loans up to a maximum of £25,000 and repaid over 25 years. This form of finance remains with the property, not the person, and is a potentially powerful tool in helping people make their homes more energy efficient.

So we need to put pressure on Government to make the introduction of PLF a priority - and you can help by sending an email to your MP asking for their support.
