Email your MP asking that planning restrictions for small-scale wind turbine are lifted for farmers and community projects!
The planning regulations for small-scale wind turbines need to be amended to make deployment more straightforward for farmers and comunity energy projects. These turbines are smaller than an oak tree and have to go through the same complex planning rules as large-scale wind farms that can be halted by a single objection. Currently all wind turbines require community consent, which has not been clearly defined, and the current height restriction of 11.1m is far too low, especially compared to the height of an average oak tree of 25m.
Please ask your MP to write to the Secretary of State for DLUHC to support small-scale wind turbines.
